In order to move files too and from your ipod you need to be able to SSH into the device.
You need an FTP client on your pc to transfer your files too and from your Idevice, the programs used are CyberDuck for Mac or SmartFTP for Windows
Install OpenSSH and SBSettings to your Idevice, SBSettings has the option to toggle SSH on/off and due to the large ammount of battery used you will most probaly want to disable it.
Next you need to log into a WiFi network and record your Idevice's IP address
found in 'Setting > Wi-Fi > blue arrow'
Next Launch your FTP client on your pc then enter your Idevices’s IP address and set port to 22. Your username is root and the default password is ‘alpine’ once the details are inputed click connect or continue.
You should now have a list of all your Idevice's files.
Now you can transfer your files.
Keep your device plugged in and go to Settings -> Autolock -> and click Never
Otherwise you'll get an error.
Also if you have a mac you can download iphone explorer and use the usb to access the root instead of SSHing
